World Environment Day Celebration 2025 at Vidhyadeep University

The World Environment Day Celebration was held at Vidhyadeep University, Surat, on June 5, 2025, with the objective of spreading awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living. The event took place at the D-Pharmacy Building, Room No. 106, and was organized by Prof. Rinal Patel from the Vidhyadeep Institute of Commerce in collaboration with the NSS Unit and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Over 200 participants, including students and faculty members, attended the program.

The event commenced with an inaugural address by Hon’ble Vice President Shri Hiren Bhai Patel, who inspired everyone to take small but consistent steps toward protecting nature. The welcome speech and oath-taking ceremony were delivered by Dr. Batul Hamid, Dean and Principal I/c of Vidhyadeep Law College. She shared the valuable message of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that “plants must be cared for just like we care for our mothers.”

To mark the occasion, 200 saplings were distributed to participants for plantation, and 200 eco-friendly cloth bags were given away to encourage reduced plastic use. Each recipient took a pledge to nurture their plant, reinforcing a sense of personal responsibility toward nature. The event was conducted in an inspiring and organized manner by Prof. Rinal Patel, who also served as the anchor for the session.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Vrunda, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, volunteers, and participants. The celebration reflected Vidhyadeep University’s dedication to environmental sustainability and its mission to instill ecological awareness among the youth. Such activities not only foster a cleaner environment but also strengthen the university’s commitment to developing socially responsible citizens who contribute to a sustainable future.

 . A total of 200 saplings and 200 reusable eco-friendly bags were distributed to participants, promoting tree plantation and the reduction of plastic usage. The welcome address and oath ceremony were conducted by Dr. Batul Hamid, who emphasized the message of caring for plants like our own family. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Vrunda, marking a meaningful and successful initiative toward a greener future.
