Event Details
The Janmashtami Mahotsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 14th August 2025 at Vidhyadeep University. The campus was filled with joy as students and staff arrived in traditional attire, adding to the festive atmosphere. The celebration began at 11:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall, B Building, with a series of cultural performances that lasted until 1:30 p.m. In the afternoon, the Dahi-handi celebration and DJ session took place around A Block from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., engaging the entire university community.
Activities
1. Cultural Programme:
The morning session featured devotional songs, classical and folk dances, skits based on Lord Krishna’s life, and poetry recitations. The performers captivated the audience, who responded with great enthusiasm, creating a devotional yet lively atmosphere.
2. Dahi-handi Event:
The afternoon event saw the highlight of the festival as students formed human pyramids to break the handi, symbolizing teamwork, courage, and unity. Faculty and staff actively supported and cheered for the participants, making it a spirited and collaborative activity.
3. DJ and Celebration:
After the handi was broken, the energy continued with a DJ session. Both students and staff joined in the dancing and celebration, showcasing the spirit of togetherness. The presence of respected Hiren Sir, who interacted with participants and encouraged them, added warmth to the occasion.
