The Arti Thali Decoration Competition, held on 1st September 2025 at the Vidhyadeep Institute of Commerce, was a culturally enriching event organized to promote creativity, celebrate tradition, and enhance student engagement. Conducted in E-Building Room No. 301, the event was coordinated by Ms. Rinal Patel, who ensured smooth execution and active participation. The competition aimed to integrate festive spirit with artistic expression, aligned with the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival deeply rooted in Indian culture.
A total of 13 enthusiastic students from FY, SY, and TY B.Com participated in the competition. The objective of the event was to motivate students to express their creativity through traditional art while learning the significance of cultural rituals associated with the festival. Participants decorated their arti thalis using a wide variety of materials including flowers, beads, mirrors, paints, diyas, and eco-friendly craft items. Each thali reflected unique themes, creativity, dedication, and attention to detail, making the event visually appealing and spiritually uplifting.
The competition was judged by Ms. Vaibhavi Vashi (Computer IT – BCA Department) and Dr. Naresh Rohit (B.Ed. Department). Their evaluation criteria included artistic creativity, traditional elements, colour coordination, neatness, and the overall presentation of the thali. They appreciated the students for their exceptional talent and the thoughtful effort behind each design.
After thorough judging, the winners were announced as follows:
First Prize – Janvi Radadiya (T.Y B.Com, Sem V)
Second Prize – Sonia Sanjiv (S.Y B.Com, Sem III)
Third Prize – Akanksha Yadav (F.Y B.Com, Sem I)
The judges highlighted that all the thalis beautifully combined tradition with creativity, showing the students’ remarkable commitment to preserving Indian cultural practices.
The event concluded with a heartfelt note of appreciation from the organizing committee. Students expressed great excitement and satisfaction, as the competition offered them an opportunity to showcase their artistic talent and deepen their understanding of traditional festivities. The cultural energy and collaborative environment made the program enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.
The Arti Thali Decoration Competition successfully fulfilled its goal of fostering creativity, cultural pride, and community involvement. It once again demonstrated Vidhyadeep University’s commitment to holistic development, where academic learning goes hand-in-hand with cultural enrichment and artistic expression.
