On 9th October 2025, the BCA Department of Vidhyadeep University successfully organized an enriching Industrial Visit to Odoo India Pvt. Ltd., followed by an educational and interactive tour to Science City, Ahmedabad. The objective of this visit was to provide students with practical learning, industry exposure, and real-world insights into modern IT operations, enterprise software development, and scientific innovations.
The first session of the visit was held at Odoo India, a renowned global software company widely recognized for its open-source ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform. The students were welcomed by the Odoo technical team, who explained the complete workflow of ERP systems, including module development, customization, integration, and deployment. They also explored how Odoo’s platform supports automation in sales, inventory, accounting, HR, and business management.
The students gained valuable knowledge about software development practices, including coding standards, version control systems (Git), testing procedures, and teamwork in agile-based development environments. The Odoo experts also discussed career opportunities in the IT industry, the importance of strong programming skills, and the need for continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technological world. The modern workspace and collaborative culture at Odoo inspired students and gave them a clearer understanding of corporate expectations.
After the industrial session, the students visited Science City, where they explored a wide range of scientific and technological exhibits. Key attractions included the Robotics Gallery, Planetarium, Hall of Science, and IMAX Dome Theatre. These exhibits introduced students to emerging technologies such as robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, space science, physics principles, biology, and environmental conservation. Interactive displays, hands-on experiments, and live demonstrations helped students connect classroom theories with real-world applications.
This combined industrial and educational visit played a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. It boosted students’ problem-solving abilities, technical awareness, and understanding of real-time IT workflows. Faculty members accompanying the students highlighted the value of experiential learning in shaping confident, skilled, and industry-ready professionals.
